Dahlia Lives On In The 2010 Ascot Gold Cup -

Postby Patuxet » Thu Jun 17, 2010 3:45 pm

Group 1 Ascot Gold Cup over 2 miles and 4 furlongs. The winner. Rite of Passage, is by Giant’s Causeway from Dahlia’s Krissy, by Kris S.

He is inbred 4×3 to Roberto and his third dam is the racing great Dahlia, a daughter of the stamina influence and one-time Gainesyway sire Vaguely Noble.

What a test of quality! The bottom line always tells.
"He is pure air and fire and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him; he is indeed a horse ..." Wm. Shakespeare - Henry V

Love Giant's Causeway, love his offspring. Thanks for the Dahlia connection, Patuxet, I wasn't aware of it.

Wasn't the Gold Cup a thing of beauty? Rite of Passage is no Yeats, but it was a thrilling race. (Cashed in nicly at 22-1, too!!!) Going to be hard to wait a whole year for the meet to come around again.
