Zenyatta and Blind Luck in Ladys Secret

Postby Derby2004 » Sat Sep 25, 2010 8:32 am

I feel an upset coming on. I guess that defines how good Zenyatta is when a Kentucky Oaks winner beating her is considered an upset

I wouldn't expect an upset from Blind Luck. I'll take the fully mature 6 year old over a 3 year old who is still getting better.

I can't even fathom an upset. Blind Luck is a very good filly BUT she has already proven vulnerable on synthetic and she is a MUCH better horse on dirt. Zenyatta is not vulnerable on synthetic and is also a better horse on dirt. If running for second money is what the King wants to do, then he is definitely going to be successful.

Hollendorfer isn't in any hurry to meet Zenyatta, she's also nominated to a couple other filly and mare stakes. The Beldame at Belmont and the Cotillion in PA. He's just keeping his options open. TJ

1. blind luck's most visually impressive race of her life was on that same surface

2. Z is in fact 6. what if she has lost a step.

3. the benefit of not having to ship twice before the distaff

4. seriously, what do they have to lose? 3yO filly of the year is a done deal, and the don't have a perfect record to maintain.

5. already has been to arkansas, delaware, new york and kentucky this year. i could see him even conceeding the lost just6 to get her dead fit for the distaff. winning this prep is not the goal.

just some random thoughts from me

BL is not running here and BDW.. you as always are incorrect

Shipping is not an issue for this filly. She shipped to Arkansas pre Oaks. Jerry is great at shipping horses out of state. The horse doesn't skip a beat regardless of a ship coss crountry

Does it look like Zenyatta has lost a step. nope
Blind Luck is getting better at the right time BUT she is not a super freak

1. no one said shipping was an issue, ovbiously it's not lol. but still, you would think that maybe it's possible that .. you know what i'm not even going to bothetr. your mind is made.

Really like to ask for an excuse to say this...how can shipping be not a factor to race horses ? airway, waterway or highway
will all take out somethng from a horse (to owner only cost him money)...Isn't it just a simple logic ?

I haven't seen the entries for the Lady's Secret, but I'd guess it'll be Z plus two or three second rate allowance mares or fillies.

using logic here is like trying to tell louis that phalaris was the soundest race horse ever born. of course it has some effect, it's elementary level logic. but dont waste your time.

now she handles it better than most, that's a given
