Eclipse winner Awesome Feather

Postby oliverstoned » Fri Nov 05, 2010 8:11 pm

Sells this month at auction, any guesses to what she'll bring? Congrats to Jacks or Better Farms who cashed in nicely from selling a portion of Jackson Bend last year as well as selling Al Zir for 1.6 mil, and now this. All this from a little operation that foals 14-16 mares a year. Nice to see someone making money at this.
Florida-breds outrunning their pedigrees run 1-2 in the Juvy Fillies....ahhh loving that warm sun. Her sire Awesome of Course is in Oklahoma now and has actually done pretty darn good with his tiny crops.

I did not know that the Eclipse Awards for 2010 had already been awarded. I must be really slow in getting the news.

Hard to see how they'll pick anyone but Awesome Feather. She's undefeated in 6 starts, including a dominating win in the BC Juvy fillies. Who could the voters put over her?

Awesome Feather has a more intriguing pedigree than it seemed at first glance:

Adena Springs bought her for $2.3mil. They'll be sending her to Chad Brown in Florida.
