Wow, this is really very sad. Looked like his hind end slipped out from under him going around the turn, but then he was up and galloped off. He didn't look right when he galloped off, and I guess the sad news is, he broke his shoulder in the fall. RIP boy and condolences to his connections.

Just saw a replay of his fall, he lost traction behind and went down. He got up and "cantered" off on a disunited lead- obviously in pain. Poor boy. Condolences.

I agree, very sad start to the BC races. I hate to see this happen anytime, especially not in the high profile races. At least it wasn't a multi-horse accident.

RIP, Rough Sailing and my deepeth sympathy to all the connections. This must be so heartbreaking.
