Preakness Prep
Can anyone else remember a Kentucky Derby in which it was impossible to throw out anything, leading to a race that is going to function chiefly as the Preakness Prep?

It's not THAT out there. I didn't see a mention of Phalaris anywhere!

Please share your wisdom. I've spent a fair amount of time trying to sort out this bunch.

I'd look for somebody who is a grinder or a closer. After their messes of final preps, Soldat and The Factor and maybe Uncle Mo/Comma are not going to try to rate, and are going to flame out on the front end.
After saying that, I just don't like Dialed In for that. (Arch)^3 might, Nehro, and Toby's Corner.

Actually leaning towars AAA or Nehro simnply becuase I love the pattern they are coming in the race. Nehro had a race 4 weeks ago, then a race 1 week ago, then will have a race in 3 weeks. will be in prime shape. I like that.

Instead, The Giacomo 50-1 tag warranted a scrutiny...he had gone into the derby with 2 respectably strong runs...and his
a mere 1 length win over the 3rd placed AA indicated the outcome could have gone the other way (By the way, CA was
not "supposed" to stand btw them thus rendering himself to be the prime suspect
). That was vindicated in the
remaining two classics...and Giacomo was down by devastating 9&3/4 and 18 lengths to AA.
