Interesting stuff in here . . . doesn't bode well for the Derby favorite.

A good and fine thanks to Dr. Roman for all the work done this year along this Derby Trail . . . no one anywhere does it better!

Thanks Doc!

Roman is a great statistician and you can always glean things from his writing that you will find nowhere else. For instance, Dialed In's dam is a daughter of Storm Cat and progeny from Storm Cat's daughters have never produced a graded stakes winner >9F Pretty significant when you think about it. Storm Cat definitely saw some good mares and was the leading sire for many years. Interesting stat.

NO doubt an interesting stat and one worth knowing particularly if one is going to be betting on Dialed In come the Derby. When I first read that fact I wondered how many Dialed In fans know that fact and how many millions of dollars may be lost simply because they just don't have the complete picture. It takes some careful reading, but Roman does have some interesting facts to offer regarding some of the other contenders.

Just like the Derby, I always looked forward to the Kentucky Derby Preview. Of course I'll be watching out for that Master of Hounds!
