Plum Pretty

Interesting inbreeding pattern:

The dam of the sire and the second dam are both by sons of Damascus out of Silent Screen mares.
May 2013: Plan ahead now for the Phalaris/Teddy Centennial!

Bast you are amazing at how you can fish all that out of a pedigree.

I looked at it, but I usually just look at the first, second and third gens.

M D'Oro seems like he is a great filly sire, I can't think of any males right now that are by him doing so well as the girls.

Plum Pretty is just that, a pretty girl too! Much prettier than Rachel was with that weird face and eyes.

Tomorrows race is up in the air, I'm looking forward to watching, but not too excited. I'm picking my two, Coby's Corner(?) think thats the name and Fire in his Pants, something like that. Just have to go by names this year!

I'm sure you have the winner though!
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......

I'll bet you a million-zillion-squillion dollars that Toby's Corner doesn't hit the board in the Kentucky Derby. (He's not running. Was pulled out of the race a few days ago.)

Very clever pattern on that linebreeding. I knew somebody who had a mare from that same family. The guy was an idiot and the mare never produced anything of note. lol.
Another horse very cleverly mated is Pants On fire.
Inbred to Seattle Slew with a son and a daughter. Then there is the Mr. Prospector/Buckpasser combo. Nice. I might take a stab with him. What the heck. Oh, and he's from the same family as St. Liam. There is stamina there and he has speed too. Hmmm....

Hey now..What is wrong with Rachel's face? I thought she was a very cool looking horse. Not that Plum Pretty isn't too.

It gets even more clever.

El Prado is out of a Sir Ivor mare, he being out of a mare by Mr. Trouble (Mahmoud) and out of a daughter of Pharamond, who in turn is a granddaughter of the blue hen mare Alcibiades.

Pillow Talk, Plum Pretty's 5th dam, is by Mr. Trouble out of a daughter of Pharamond and Alcibiades.

In addition, this filly has the mare Cap and Bells through El Prado. Cap and Bells is by Tom Fool (by Menow--Pharamond x Alcibiades) out of a mare by Mahmoud, making her a reverse cross to Pillow Talk and Sir Ivor.

A lot of family 8 in that pedigree! Love it.
