there is a reason i go out of my way to play emerald downs. they put on, one of the best products in the country. if every track put as much thought as emerald downs did into their presentation, horse racing would be doing alot better.

looking forward to tomorrow nights card actually, thursday nights is the only night i can play the card from start to finish and i plan to do so.

Racing in Washington state is near and dear to my heart. Ron Crocket is a hero in my eyes. He saved racing in Washington. Another hero of mine is the late Joe Gottstein. He brought racing (and pari-mutuel wagering) back to the area after it had been banned for years. My first horses were raced at Longacres Race Track, and I knew Mr. Gottstein. He loved the track and the racing scene so much that he and his wife lived in a residence behind the tote board during the racing season. He would walk the stable area in the mornings, and eat breakfast at the backstretch cafe. He was a very nice man who loved thoroughbred racing.

Every track that is saved to race another day is a plus.

This is too cute/funny

so I am babysitting my sister for the weekend before school starts and before i leave. so last night she is watching TVG with me and i am trying to explain to her what a pacer/trotter is and how they run differently then regular horses and why they look like they are running slow. She's 11 BTW

so we are getting ready to go to the movies and I have it on TVG and emerald downs comes on,. and she says "look, they are trotting"

I almost cried laughing, i was like no bri they are just slow.
