question about european turf sires

Postby bdw0617 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 9:10 am

i really think it's going to rain for breeders cup weekend. while I am pretty familar with american turf sires, outside of danehill I am not all that familiar with european turf sires. which turf sires are sires that throw horses that would take to a soft ground moreso than others?

like i know goldikova doesn't like soft ground, but outside of that i'm out. Also any info on Rahy would be appreciated as well

Those by Kittens Joy moved up on the soft turf on Arlington Million day both in the stakes races and on the undercard.

Isn't the turf in the Arc considered to have tremendous give compared to US turf? Would performance in the Arc be a good guide?

Goldikova is a super horse not only for her big scores but her unique weather neutral consistency :

26 starts...17 wins...6 2nd.....2 3rd...1 7th :

1 st : Good ground 7, Good to soft 5, Firm 3, Soft 2
2nd or 3rd :Good ground 4, Good to soft 2, Soft 1, Heavy 1
7th : Soft 1.

I would think they all have disgust for soft ground ? who would like to gallop on quick sand..humans dont..In a race what all
runners face is the same...he who adapts better to the going (and so weather) has clear upperhand ... everything else equal.

I don't think some like it as much as some just tolerate it better than others. German breds for instance, seem to relish on heavy ground, i would suppose because they are very stamina laden horses.

lol think i just answered my own question
