published work under false name?
How often does this happen? I recently bought an off track thoroughbred for re training. I have had this horse since wednesday. On friday there was a published work for him (fastest of the day). Unless he was magically transported to the track from my farm for this work, there's no possible way this is him. What would be some reasons for doing this?

possibility of same name? Name retired?
although it wouldn't happen with a recently retired horse, a horse that has been off of the track for awhile might have had his name retired by the jockey club. Also, make sure you are spelling it correctly. If you get the spacing of the letters incorrect or one letter incorrect you would not have the correct horse.
