The first televised Kentucky Derby was run. I remember watching it.

My memory seems to be good. It's just the rest of me that is giving up the ghost.

If it was the 1952 Derby, then it was 60 years ago.

Details, details...
I was born in 1952. If I could be 50 again I'd be perfectly happy.

Georgerz: PQ would be no fun without you.

My memory of the 1952 Derby is still in place but I've got a large keyed "blind man's" calulator out now checking on my arithmetic skills. If you were born in 1951, you need to start preparing. Large keyed calculators and magnifying glasses are a must.

My first Derby was Northern Dancer's victory in 1964. I was a big Hill Rise fan; he being a George Pope Cal Bred. He did close resolutely but could not catch Northern Dancer. Since that Derby, I have watched everyone live on television. Never missed one.

I couldn't see that one. I was stuck living on Okinawa with my Air Force father. They didn't show it on Armed Forces television. I think we got the results about on the Tuesday after the race.
