"Super Mario"

I'm really excited for Gutierrez for this opportunity, but I can't stand the media. They are making it sound like he didn't have any success until now. They should really do their homework/quit blowing things out of proportion.

The guy was leading rider up here at Hastings Park, and was riding for the top stable on contract. He was getting on their best horses. He was not a struggling rider..."One day he is a struggling rider with an 86-year-old agent about to pack up his bags and head back to Hastings"...

He really is neat to watch get interviewed because he's quite genuine and it's really exciting for Hastings Park to see a rider from Hastings win the biggest race in North America, but MAN the media is annoying.

The same with just about every story in horse racing these days when presented by the media. We are all SO down and out, about to the lose the farm, our worlds crashing in on us until the moment when there is poof! a G1 winner.. I suppose it is all supposed to the feel-good stories that get people interested but to most horsemen it is just pure BS satire. This guy is a strong, young, talented jock that is a very nice person as a few people I know have told me. So kudos for him for being good at his job.
