winter memories

Postby bdw0617 » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:05 pm

is the female turf version of union rags. onle of the most overrated horses i have ever seen. she beats up on allowance and grade 3 type horses, gets bet down in big boy races and never ever runs her race. the BC Juve turf race, the QE race at keeneland the lake placid, the just a game. she never beats really good horses and keeps getting bet like she's miesque or something

Hi bdw,
That's one mans opinion...I personally wish I had one like her, but today I bet Tapitsfly over Winter Memories....you didn't have to be a great handicapper to see she was the only speed in the race today in a field full of closers. Pace makes the race and today it was all Tapitsfly. If this same race had any speed to soften Tapitsfly, Winter Memories turns the tables on her. TJ

I had the exacta, too. There wasn't anything fast enough to go with Tapitsfly the way Belmont was going to be lightning fast today. She LOVES hard fast tracks. Belmont always soups the track up for the Belmont Stakes, as long as it isn't a monsoon. And they would still try. If it was raining we'd be seeing them out there trying to steam roll it, much less use a tractor.
I had Trinniberg, and Caixa Eletronica, too.

bdw

In what dream world do you live in? The horse ran 2nd to a horse that won on an uncontested lead today in a grade 1. The mare that won is a talented mare.
Do horses need to be 22 for 22 with you? I don't understand your logic.

she can't beat good horses. thats my logic

funny how no one had any of these complaints about the pace when she wet off at 6 to 5. hrtv was a 15 min winter memories love fest.

Winter Memories stays at the top of her division after her Diana win. This race historically has been won by the very best turf fillies in the country. Most will agree Winter Memories is in that category. TJ

Well, please explain that one. No pace, and she wins.

A few reasons for that....a different turf course then the last time they met at Belmont Park. Saratoga has much tighter turns which usually doesn't carry speed....especially after a rain which left the turf course labeled good. Tapitsfly was dogged by a 26-1 shot Law of the Range and never took more than a 1 1/2 length lead. Winter Memories was kept closer to the pace under Castellano this time then ever before and the Saratoga turf course is a true turf lover's turf course. TJ

Fair enough. So the speed horse didn't get her way on the lead this time.
The mare (Winter Memories) can run and she is not over-rated.

she's won one grade 1 race now, if you want to pat yourself on the back beucase you got your 3.60 back from your 2 dollar wager after her burning money in grade 1 races for the last 2 years then by me guest i'm not going to stop you. she is the definition of overrated. she had no business going off at 8/5 today

once the big girl preps start coming out and eden's moon/ snowtop mountain / Summer Soiree enter the fray she will get clobbered. she's not that cut of turf mare.

Hi bdw,
Guess we'll have to wait and see what the end of the year brings. This was her 2nd GR 1 win by the way. TJ
