Flying Posse and Midwest Thoroughbreds

Postby stlouiskid » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:57 pm

I have owned a lot of race horses, and I know how they work. Someone please explain how they claim an indescript, so so bred non winner of two for $7,500. And in 3 months he rips off 3 wins, and now he will be favored in a $34,000 allowance race on Monday.
And this is just one example of many where horses they claim are within weeks many times vastly improved. What gives. They got some magic formula. Is Jamie Ness the horse whisperer.
I guess right now I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I have claimed horses and have them claimed, and it just doesn't work this way so easily.

If Jamie Ness is the Horse Whisperer, I guess Roger Brueggeman is, too.

Jamie runs a superior operation. Excellent caretaking; he moves his horses around several racing venues and finds good spots for his horses. I think he has a horse inventory classification system as well. If you look at his entries they are always well spotted.

Sometimes all it takes to move a claimer up a LOT is a power pack, teeth floated, ulcer meds and better feed.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

In all actuality, Roger and Jamie are both very good trainers, know 'em both. Good care goes a long way. Watch WHO they move horses up off of, rather than just the horse. They claim off a really good outfit, horse probably doesn't move a whole lot. Claim one from anoutfit where level of care is lacking and they look like magicians. Some horses just like a different program better and thrive.

Power Pack is a five day Panacur worming. We do it on every horse that comes in the barn, regardless of how we get them.

So true. My trainer claimed a horse off a very well known trainer. He wormed her and was stunned to see the biggest pile of worms he has ever seen in the horse's dung..
