if i am not mistaken isn't the english TC the St. Leger mile and 3/4ths race? don't most skip that race becuase they don't want to win the race and be deemed slow by breeders? something like that

sea the stars would have walked home had he ran in it but did not run

If it is to be slow..it's bound to happen also in non classic races as well right ? EVEN if we just look at how the two stars did in
the coveted Derby..we might tend to give a superfitious conclusion that Sea The Stars ran dead slow in that race 3 years ago
as compared to the younger ruler...this "systemic differential" often exists but is always ignored...you are the fastest and the
best fellow of the day if you win it...remind me of the black cat white cat analogy.

What is more valueable - a St. Leger-win and the TC of Camelot

or

a clash of Frankel, Camelot and So You Think at York in August or in the Champion Stakes at Ascot in September =>
a "Race of the Century"?

.... not to forget Danedream in such a race, although it's not out of the world that she will be beaten tomorrow at St. Cloud in a false run race with just 6 horses in.

Good idea...racing fans have indeed missed that kind of convulsion in the 2001 duels btw Fantastic Light and Frankel's father..results though (Irish Champion Stakes) as at today I am still unsure there wasn't any mix-up in the order in the report room. This feeling reappeared in the 2002 version...btw Grandera and Hawk Wing..and it gave former the world title.

Frankel has been deliberately trained for under 9f...do respect his father first if we doubt he wont stand the extra.

So you think, wilf's favorite friend, has rebounced very strongly after eating dust in March...and back to turf...seems menacing again.

I think in this century race...So You Think will have upper hand.

That won't happen, at least not with So You Think. He has one more race (Coral Eclipse, I think?) next month, then he goes into quarantine for stud duty in Australia.

if bodemeister, union rags, hansen, paynter, dullahan and mark V all go to the travers that wouldn't even be the race of the month lol let alone the race of the century. frankel would beat those horses like a rag doll. as much as I love so you think he's just not that cut of horse.

Camelot is to face 10 rivals in Irish Derby this Saturday...an easy victory is expected...so the hope of him attempting the classic hattrick
is still alive...St leger will be run in September.

Keeping fingers crossed...Nijinsky also won the Irish Derby before completing the full course in UK 42 years ago.

Good luck on getting Mark Valeski in the gate. He's already been announced as out for the rest of the year. Has bone chips.

Following is post race comments extracted from RacingPost UK :

Camelot 1/5F
b c Montjeu (IRE) - Tarfah (USA) (Kingmambo)
Settled in 4th, closer approaching straight and smooth headway to challenge early straight, jinked left and led under 2f out, ridden out and kept on well final furlong (op 2/11 tchd 1/4)

Born To Sea (IRE) 8/1
b c Invincible Spirit (IRE) - Urban Sea (USA) (Miswaki)
Settled in rear, closer in 4th entering straight, went 2nd under 2f out, soon ridden and tried to challenge, no impression on winner inside final furlong, kept on same pace (op 10/1)

Light Heavy (IRE) 10/1
ch c Teofilo (IRE) - Siamsa (USA) (Quest For Fame)
Chased leader in 3rd, closer after halfway and ridden in 2nd entering straight, no impression under pressure in 3rd over 1f out, no extra

Akeed Mofeed 11/1
b c Dubawi (IRE) - Wonder Why (GER) (Tiger Hill)
Chased leader in 2nd, headway to lead approaching straight, ridden and headed under 2f out, no extra in 4th over 1f out, weakened (op 10/1 tchd 12/1)

Astrology (IRE) 14/1
b c Galileo (IRE) - Ask For The Moon (FR) (Dr Fong)
Led, 4 length advantage halfway, driven along and headed approaching straight, soon no extra and weakened (op 16/1)

Tiny field, undulating course, heavy ground...Camelot was sent off 1/5 favorite...No threat throughout racing...Born To Sea
was given the giant killer role...but Canelot has proven too strong for him.

Margin : 2 lengths....Time : 2:43.96

The 15th horse which won Derby double....all eyes on the big one...in Sep..the 1&3/4 miles UK St Leger

Keeping fingers crossed...well done the tiger woods of racing
