in a related story, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse will be hosting a seminar in which they will be discussing the benefits of living a drug free lifestyle

If you were telling the truth when you said you once had a drug problem, what about this statement is funny? Secondly, I do not like D. Wayne very much, however, when was the last time he was busted for a medication violation?

I don't know the last time but this is one of the most memorable:

Barrera and Lukas Cited In Drug-Use Investigation

''In my heart, Laz Barrera is as innocent as can be and so am I, and I'd stake my children's lives on that. No horse of mine has ever received cocaine and I've never even seen it.'' http://www.nytimes.com/1989/02/14/sport ... ation.html

Shortly after that his son was nearly killed by Tabasco Cat

I think Frankel was also part of that group and as I recall nothing became of it. I see you have the same sense of humor as bdw. I see nothing funny, maybe ironic but not funny.

I'd hate to be lumped into any group with bdw, I haven't reached those depths (I hope).

If you pull enough strings most stewards will cave - which is why it was dropped (IMO), although contamination was listed as cause. Bryan Webb, Anthony Hemmerick and Roger Stein were also charged and Stein got 6 months and $2000 fine.
I didn't post it as funny. I was going for the tragic irony slant. I've known Lukas since he was training QHs - the only thing I can say for him is his that ego hasn't diminished with age.

Let's see.

D.W. Lukas:

all (most) horses bleed eventually

there is some "validity" to giving horses lasix to prevent bleeding

but that's like taking tylenol everymorning because your might get a headache.

perfect sense.

ratherrapid and cassic both made very astute points, but that was not even the angle i was going for. How is running horses in the ground any better than not medicating them to death? hell if anything he is the reason why they need the medications and pain blockers that they do need.

at the end of the day both causes a horse to not start as many times, both will alter a horses true form, I'm a saint and a spokesperson beucase i don't use the newest and latest exotic drug on the market while i am running horses over their head week and and week out with no real regard to what they do and do not want to do, I'm not saying there isn't a difference, but there are much better spokespeople for the issue then him. If at the end of the day, if the issue is the welfare of the horses, I don't know how he gives that statement.
