SOUDARD and other similar importations.

Rare outstanding Thoroughbreds imported to the US and their legacy.

Do you remember a Triple Crown winner named SOUDARD (Bel)(1968) who was imported to the US for stallion duties?

Can you name other similar atypical importations their objective and the result?

In the case of SOUDARD I am afraid there is no 21st century trace of his legacy. Am I right?

Hi Jorge,
Tatan is one I remember, an Argentine import who who came to the USA. He was bred to Ogden Mills Phipps Busanda. The resulting filly foal, Navsup produced the GR I winner Polish Navy. Another Argentine champion, although not so rare, who needs no introduction is Forli. TJ

The Danish Triple Crown winner and Swedish HOTY, Rossard has left somewhat of a legacy in California with her son Unusual Heat.
