Winter Memories retired

Postby Cree » Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:44 pm

What a shame. Looking forward to her foals.

"Winter Memories represents five generations of Darby Dan horses," noted Phillips, "and we cannot and will not risk her safety."

Darn darn darn! I really liked her! Hate to see her retire, but I'm glad they're looking out for her best interests.

Winter Memories will be missed...but there's always another to look forward to. Jimmy Toner and the Phillip's have a decent up and coming 3YO filly who will try to temper the blow of Winter Memorie's unexpected retirement. Her name is Moment In Dixie and she will be asked to run 1 1/8th miles for the first time this Friday in a non graded Sweepstakes in the 2nd at Saratoga. TJ

Who said"nobody ever committed suicide with promising two years old in the barn"?????????
The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...

Hi Sylvie,
That would be Jim Ryan who trained both steeplechase and flat runners. He trained years ago for owner's such as Paul Mellon and James Cox Brady to name a couple. TJ
