Bodemeister Retired
Moderators: Roguelet, hpkingjr, WaveMaster
On a positive note it appears his unsoundness is due to "a peripheral nerve injury which caused atrophy of the infraspinatus muscle in his left shoulder". And that "his legs are perfect". I would venture to guess he will be a very popular freshman stallion with his brilliant speed, pedigree and essentially sound of limb. He took on a lot of physical stress in a short period of time and handled it. He would be someone I would want to breed to.
IMO, it's a shame he will be retired but per the thread "Bodemeister" the financial engines drive decisions like this every year..

Hi Zinn,
I agree with that....he's a breeder's dream, speed and stamina. Paynter, (currently in light training at Belmont since his return from the clinic) will be of similar advantage to the breeding ranks for the same reason. I also believe Union Rags will be well accepted as a sire. We may be losing them early for one reason or another but I think they may help the breed down the road. TJ
