Groupie Doll Halter and Meet and Greet Auction

Postby winningcolors1988 » Sun Dec 02, 2012 4:21 pm

I hope it is OK to post this link, but since 100% of the proceeds go to retrain retired thoroughbreds, I hope this will be considered appropriate.

And this really is a unique item/experience! The wonderful connections of Groupie Doll have donated the chance to own the halter Groupie Doll wore all throughout her 2012 campaign, and to meet her, and her favorite buddy Brass Hat, at their farm.

The proceeds from this will help Second Stride retrain and find homes for the TB's that weren't as successful as Groupie Doll and Brass Hat. So if you know of any race race fans who might be interested, please pass the link along. And if anyone is interested, but not planning on being in Kentucky until next spring, the visit time can be changed.

And if you have a wish list of racing items or experiences you would be interested in, please let me know! Many in the industry are wanting to help retired TB's, and I have learned it doesn't hurt to ask!

Thanks!

They're doing something similar at GP. You can buy raffle tickets for a buck from opening day till Dec. 15th to win a visit with Little Mike and Dale Roman's on Dec. 16th. There will be 50 winners in all. The proceeds will be donated to Gulfstream's Thoroughbred Aftercare Program and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. This type of fund raising hopefully will catch on among other racing venues as well as the owners and trainers of other champion TB's. It will not only increase funds for retired race horse's aftercare....but it may do a lot to promote new fans and possibly bring new owner's into the business. TJ
