Wow good for him. Cooincidentally I owned his grandmother, Andrea Ruckus. Bought her off the internet fo $5k when she was 17, and I barely knew enough at the time to be dangerous. After hypomating and asking for advice on pedigreequery for weeks, I settled on In Excess iand shipped the poor old mare all the way to California. She did have the foal. He was okay, made us a small profit, won a $40k maiden claiming at Hollywood and one or two races after that I think.

Arch is turning into a heck of a broodmare sire it seems. He is the broodmare sire of I'll have another and a few other graded stakes winners in the past year.

Glad to see they didn't forget about the Queen's Plate winner, Strait of Dover, who's campaign was cut short by a tendon injury.
Anyone know if he's going to be back?

I was just wondering the same thing. Whether Strait of Dover would come back, and how good was / is he anyway? He did set a track record when he won the Queen's Plate. English Channel got better as he got older, and it begs the question if Strait Of Dover has a lot more upside to offer.

He was very immature at 2, and didn't handle the dirt at Hastings.

Once they switched tracks and he figured it out, the horse didn't lose a race (except the DQ when he broke his maiden). I think he will improve with age, as long as he makes it back from the injury. I have heard or seen nothing. I was looking forward to seeing him run on the grass.

thanks Cree, that is good news. Trainer seems high on him and thinks he's 110%. I'm thrilled. I'm really supporting the stallion. My partners and I have a 3 yr old and a 2 yr old in training by English Channel. The 3 year old shows potential but too early to tell yet. Also we have a mare in foal to English Channel.

Strait Of Dover did strike me as being potentially a grade one type. I'm no handicapper but it seems to me he might really be talented...
