Shanghai Bobbby had his first serious move since being freshened after discovering a pelvic stress fracture after his defeat in the Florida Derby. He worked in company with another Pletcher returnee, Graydar....both going 5/8th over Saratoga's main track this morning in 1:00.4 breezing. TJ

it will be interesting to see what they do with him when they get him back. i would hope they keep him in the middle distance. I don't think he's a real sprinter but i know he's not a handicap horse.

Shanghai Bobby returned off a 6+ month layoff to prevail by a neck. His next start could come in the BC Dirt Mile or BC Sprint November 2nd. Other, more sensible options (given his injury and lengthy layoff) include The Bold Ruler October 26th at Belmont Park and/or the Cigar Mile at Aqueduct on November 30th. TJ

I just don't think he is fast enough to compete with the Sprint division.
And, is he serious putting him in against Verrazano and the Dirt Mile field.

I agree, send him to something a little more sensible. Not that Pletcher does that on a regular basis.

Good to see Shanghai back in the game . . . I'll be watchin' for him come his next race.

I'd point him towards the cigar mile if he were my horse.

I would never consider him a "great" 2-year-old. Good quote for the stallion advertisements though.

Unfortunate - sure was lookin' forward to seein' him run again. Maybe the same thing for Orb?
