Particularly competitive race.

Imagining looks the part with JohnnyV up, gave way in the G2 Nijinsky; three nice works, last one sharp on the tr.t; short on class. Boisterous fits winning the G1 ManOWar and the G2 Monmouth; sharp work with the dogs up; appears to be off form. Big Blue Kitten had em' singin' the blues in the rail skimming Sword Dancer, runnin' the last quarter in less than 23 - blistering last quarter; three fine works with the dogs up; gonna be tough to beat. Real Solution ran a nice last fraction in the Arlington Million, comes in with even weight; three fine works with the dogs up; equally tough. Joes Blazing Aaron looks a Ramsey rabbit benefiting Big Blue Kitten; sharp last work; outclassed; French invader Nutello ran rank in the Sword Dancer, got the final quarter in < 24; gets L first time - juiced Euro; three sharp ones on the training track; picks up 10 lbs; good as any of em'. British invader Slumber wins his last two, shows four nice works, one at 7fl on a good track; appears short of class; Twilight Eclipse also ran his last fraction < 24; game leader late in the Sword Dancer; four acceptable works; gonna be tough. King Kreesa ran a good one last out; two nice works; hasn't been the distance and appears short on class; Little Mike wins the G1 Turf Classic, Arlington Million and BCTurf but hasn't been the same since Dubai; three nice works - hard to tell.

Tough one, as it should be.

The extra 10 lbs is a concern, but he has juice first time, so I think if Nutello can relax and the jockey can be patient, he turns the tables on Big Blue Kitten and Twilight Eclipse - wins handily.

Here is the video link to the Sword Dancer w/ the top three - interesting race. http://www.nyra.com/belmont/videos/race-replay/ Plug in: 17Aug13 Saratoga Race 9

Nice win by Little Mike here.

Along with Ron the Greek, (21/1) this win represents the second time on this card, on this day, at this track, that a G1 winner in the recent past comes back and tags em' unexpectedly . . . Little Mike goes off at 7/1. Little Mike gave way and weakened in his last two while Ron the Greek ran flat and flattened out in his last two. In this race, the two G1 winners ran first and second and the show horse ran second in the G1 Arlington Million . . . hmmmm.

It appears that the best of the best remain so irrespective of recent poor performances particularly when entered against lesser types. In the case of the Jockey Cup Gold Cup, where the best of the best weren't entered, the rest of the best remain the best particularly when entered against lesser and younger types. Interesting and informative in at lot of different ways.

Nice win by Little Mike here, showed that G1 Breeders Cup Turf victory meant what it said.
