I mean like, you know in the post parade and the vet calls down and says the horse can't run or something like that. Has that ever happened in the kentucky derby?

closest I remember is AP Indy, morning of.

I Want Revenge?

There have been several scratches "morning of" - I also recall a gate scratch one year where the horse refused to load, jock got off, big fights, horse loaded and flipped. don't remember what horse, though..
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

I want revenge was also morning of . . . I can't recall a gate scratch at Derby. Churchill Downs derby history page, talkative archivist at the track might know. :lol:
