The Breeders Cup generated so many posts on this forum it was hard to keep up with them. There would have been a thread about the speed bias, one about the wide open fields, one about Mike Smith's incredible performances this year, someone would have run a competition for the order of finish in the Classic, and so on. So many topics, so many people not posting. I guess it's all about Facebook (which I hate) and Twitter (which I never got around to). Or maybe we are just too busy living.
Oh well........

Avoid Facebook also and dislike them even more. My business deals with I.T. security issues and Facebook is a little scary regarding personal data. Never even attempted Twitter. Would love the threads to come back. I should have contributed more back when they were going strong instead of being mostly a reader.
That being said, today was fun. Love the Breeder's Cup. Beholder was breathtaking. The Euros romped on the turf and all looked magnificent on camera.

Here's my pet peeve about the Breeders Cup - I had to work so I missed it all on Friday.
Why don't they change it to Saturday and Sunday?
Football. As for posts, everyone is on Twitter now.
You mean I might have to learn something new? Say it aint so.
There is just something so ignominious about "tweeting." Like everyone out there is really a baby bird. I still just have an old tracfone which ends up costing about $120 a year. I have resisted all attempts from my family to "upgrade" me.
Wait, that's it! It's an UPGRADE.
I was a computer geek for 30 years.. the "social networking" sites like Facebook strike fear in my heart, because of the simply massive potential for abuse of all of that personal information out there. What started as a cool little app for college students to hook up has exploded beyond all proportion.

So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
The thing about Twitter--Not the Toddster and the Saratoga Goose notwithstanding--is that most tweets are done by real people using real names. In the racing realm, that can be fascinating. Even if sometimes you sense that there is a face that the person is trying to project, the fact it is that face they selected is really interesting.
I made a Twitter account a couple of years ago in order to get instant updates on Chicago Blackhawks hockey. Chicago Bears updates soon followed, and then I found out how many racing people were on there
It's a great source of information, and the entertainment value for me is worth it. (I mean, come on, have you seen Caracortado when there's Skittles around?
) It seems like everything I read on the Bloodhorse and Paulick Report websites always cite Twitter posts, so having Twitter eliminates the wait period between news happening and articles being written.

And the photos! A lot of the trainers link back to the Facebook accounts which they keep public. Whatever you think about Doug o'Neill, whoever is managing his social media accounts is really good. The goats on the walker and the pony getting ready for Del Mar in the snorkle, sun glasses and floaties were hoots.
