New Years Day, the BC Juvenile winner, has been retired after sustaining a non displaced chip in his left hind sesamoid. TJ

Quite a disappointment. I would've liked to have seen him develop as a 3-year-old, mostly because this BC Juvenile (so far) hasn't looked strong.
Baffert has more good ones to come.
Kind of a weird situation, he really hasn't done a lot, except win the biggest G1 for 2-year-old colts, but it's hard to read off that. Certainly has a nice enough pedigree.

Woo. They set his fee at $12,500.
That's more than Flat Out, Power Broker, Morning Line, Overanalyze, Liaison, and I Want Revenge.

Seems high when you look at his race record, why he retired so darn early in life, and compare him to a horse like Flat Out.

For $10,000 you can go to Street Boss, or for $5,000 to Street Hero.

Thats half of what most Breeders Cup Juvenile winners go for.

His dam was a G2 winner and hes by Strret Cry $150,000 for the past few years.

He is the bargain of the century.

why would i pay 12,500 to bred to a slow brittle horse lol? I don't care what race he won. He'll be in Korea in 3 years.

Thats the recommendation all breeders should take, if you don't like him he's a sure thing.

Ben Glass has bought a number of mares the last two days - the West's will be supporting New Year's Day and that is a good thing!
