Three talented prospects for the Derby trail: Shared Belief, California Chrome, and Candy Boy.
I thought Candy Boy was very impressive yesterday, and he pushes up Shared Belief's stock. Hopefully Hollendorfer can get him right.
CA 3-year-olds

Candy Boy looks like a very impressive sophomore
with a tough sire and a very solid lower half pedigree;
which proclaims that there is no reason for not expecting
from him 9-furlongs-plus ability.
Makes one remember Creative Cause, who possessed
the very same attributes but with a little less than
expected brilliance. But in the case of Candy Boy, his
latest time-performance makes room for more "wishful-thinking"
possibilities.
Of course that, right now, Shared Belief should be the front
runner, but based on pedigree alone, perhaps Candy Boy has
more room for improvement.
Unfortunately, there is another factor to take into account:
Seems like 21st century sophomores are built by a different
mold than they used to be in the old days. In other words,
putting aside well intentioned rationales... it's an open field out there!
