The Tote World Pool is in operation this week. I read that the course get paid a flat fee of £500,000 perday for running it! That's a nice earner for Ascot but it also shows how much money the Tote are raking in of which the vast majority is from overseas money. Now what is it that overseas punters know about Ascot's turns, uphill finish, draw biases, or British jockeys and their styles, or Sires and their offsprings preferences? Nothing. They know nothing. This helps create the fav / longshot bias and it helps create value exotics such as the Exacta, Trifecta, Placepot and hopefully by the end of the week a huge Jackpot.
