Shamardal won the Prix du Jockey Club by a neck from the runner up Hurricane Run, at Chantilly Sunday for Godolphin Stable.

It might be an interesting view, when they could meet at the Irish derby??? Shamardal versus Motivator. As the Irish track is an out and out galopping racetrack with a long homestretch, one of the longest that's I have seen. But I don,t think this will happen.

Shamardal wants no part of 12F. clearly about 10 is his outer limit.

Agreed. Shamardal's folks went for the Prix du Jockey Club because the distance had been shortened for this year. He's more likely to resurface in the St. James's Palace Stakes than the Irish Derby.

I know both of you, are damn right.
And I know that shamardal lacks the stamina, for such a meet.
Also it is a big shaME that the prix du jockeyclub, has been shortened.
Because of the pressure by some owners with influence in this field.
As throughout europe the derby, is 12 furlong and nothing else.

No matter what the distance...how wonderful it is to see a horse, that was set to be destroyed, triumph over tragedy and possibly bring new medical techniques to the fore! :D
