Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is like a broken winged bird that cannot fly.

Sorry to see it, but it's obvious soundness was not one of Ghostzapper's many virtues. As the article says, better to retire early than to break down and get euthanized. He's certainly proven enough to warrant high stud fees and high quality mares. Some horses have brilliance and soundness, and some don't have either one. At least he showed us the brilliance.

Now seriously, how many of you HONESTLY thought he'd make it through the end of the year? Frankel's BS story for why he was skipping the next start should have been your first clue this was coming.

When the X rays fail to show a fracture or break, the TB are taken to the nuclear scan and it never fails to find the injured area.

Santa Anita has a nuke scan on its backstretch as I have seen this help many TB. Its great to have this state of the art equipement.

Be well GZ as we will look forward to your offspring, and thanks for the memories.

:::sigh:::

I was really hoping for an Afleet Alex vs. Ghostzapper scenario in the Breeder's Cup Classic. At this rate, is Alex going to be the only top flight competitor still around????

Roses in May could take him and let's not count out Bellamy Road.

Roses in May was 'pulled' from the Classic weeks ago .. he's going to the Japan Cup Dirt instead and probably can't/won't make both races.
