Denise won with Centerofattraction, a first time turfer at Colonial on Saturday. It was a nice $50 winner and absolutely loved the turf.

Congrats !!!

Way to go!

We call this big gal Dottie, because of her sabino white spots on her very chestnut coat. I was so thrilled to see her obviously relish the surface on which she was bred to run, crossing fingers the whole time.
A very scary moment before the race: a first time starter flipped in the paddock, hit her head on the stall and got her leg caught. Dottie was right next to her. Fortunately, the flipped filly was okay. It sounded far worse than it ended up, but imagine being those owners. Waiting all that time for a first start, and it ends with a scratch in the paddock.
We were very lucky and grateful and will likely never see those odds again.
A side note for all you pedigree devotees: I also won on a 9-1 With Approval filly making her first grass start at Belmont Sunday.
Keep your eye out for those.

Chestnuts look great running on the turf! And even better in the winners circle. Congratulations!

Well done Denise , did you ship in for the day?How is that track? it seems like a turf runners paradise.Thats a hell of an experience in the paddock for a horse to witness. I wish you many more win pics. Regards Wilf.

Hey Wilf

Congrats right back at you!
We usually do ship in and out the same day to Colonial; it's only a 4.5 hour van ride from the farm. We have shipped in earlier, but the horses don't seem to run as well if they have time to "think" about it....
And it is a turfer's paradise....big, wide sweeping turns, no weeds. :D

Denise is brutal on the weeds !!!! She is the only PA owner I know who will stay in the NE and unleash all her horses come summer. She always has a few good winners. Let's go to Saratoga !!!
