Wimbledon is on the comeback trail and how!! He worked 7/8ths at Golden Gate on Sunday. I caugh him in 1:24 2/5 but the clockers gave him 25 and change. He looks so good!!! Every time I see this horse I am amazed at how lovely and classy he is. There's just something different about the good ones.

Wimbleton, is that the 3yr. old that Baffert had in his shedrow? Or is this a different TB.

Who is training him now? and has he been racing or on R & R, as I lost track of W long ago.

Yes Matress Mac is still the owner.
Tom Roberts is training him.

The farm where I board my mares stands a stallion that is 1/2 brother to Wimbledon's dam. His name is Painful Pleasure and he is a lovely big horse, very classly looking and in around 16.2hh - 16.3hh.

Wimbledon has some non-fashionable ancestors that can be found on his dams side. This will be his undoing when he meets the big boys on broadway, that have those Blue Hens in their background.

Wimbledon better stay to the north as the Southern Cal racing will be too tough for him.

That's not very nice Louis. He's the real thing. He'll be competetive where ever he competes. That's a promise.

I think it's a little soon to judge Strawberry Clover's worth as a broodmare. She's still pretty young and she looks to be off to a promising start with a graded stakeswinner who ran with top 3YO company, as well as foals by Southern Halo, Cherokee Run, Peaks and Valleys and two by Wild Rush. (Wimbledon has a 2YO full sister.)

Is it just me...or does it seem very ironic that Strawberry Clover's sire Darn That Alarm died in a barn fire. That's just sad.

Not sure, Tucumcari. The owner of Strawberry Clover is listed as Mike Pegram of Sabine Stables in Florida. This is info on the database and may not be up to date. The filly is described as a chestnut.

All I can say is that he ran well as a sore horse and will be very dangerous after a good break and trainer change which seems to be the case.

The owner of Strawberry Clover is Sabine Stable, however Mike Pegram is not the owner of Sabine Stable.

I imagine that's just another inaccuracy that someone put into the database.

I stand corrected, LSB. Mike Pegram is listed as the owner of Strawberry Clover, but Sabine Stables is listed as the breeder. I just read the info wrong. Thanks for your note.
