Did you see her warm up? One of the fans sitting near us yelled out "Banzai!" as she rocketed past. I seriously don't know if I have ever seen a horse in a major race run off that fast going to the gate and the crowd buzz sounded a little worried to me.
She is pretty awesome. If she is any indication, I think the Japanese Thoroughbred industry has arrived on the world stage.

No kidding! The rest of the world better step it up a notch is that's what they're producing and developing over there!!! I think anyone and everyone who witnessed that performance was duely(sp?) impressed!

Believe she's a granddaughter of Sunday Silence, the Kentucky Derby winner who went to Japan and became an outstanding sire. The Japanese are astute investors and are picking up some of our best stock, usually the ones that get no respect from the American commercial breeding industry.
Our loss is their gain.

So many pedigrees...so little time. (C)
Cesario... oh what a beautifully wrought pedigree..
Louis, sour grapes are just that and your name-dropping in other threads is tiresome, along with your dismissal of all the horsemen who do not buy your shoes....She ran pretty well -- if her trainer's methods are medieval, what does it say about the methods of the trainers of her competition?

And to add to that, why would they be so behind us in training technique when they are so incredibly ahead of the world in so many other industries. They are liable to have some pretty technologiacally advanced equipment that make our thermoxtex blankets, ice boots and sports nutrition look archaic(sp). Just cause they may or may not have done anything differently than "we" do doesn't mean they do it wrong. AND she shipped accross the ocean, blew the socks off of some pretty nice fillies... maybe WE have something to learn from them
