OAK TREE OPENER

Postby louis finochio » Thu Sep 01, 2005 2:03 pm

Oak Tree at SA on opening day has always given the fans upon admission a mug with a picture of a TB on it.

I made a suggestion to management to give away a 8X10 color photo of Elusive Diva to the fans instead of the mug. Which would you the fans like to receive the mug or the color photo of ED.

Elusive Diva will run on opening day 6 and one half fur. on the grass, in the stake race for fillies and mares.

I am curious as to why of ALL the horses at SA, you would choose her? Just wondering.
I won't be there for opening day, but I sure love those mugs!

I love that filly ED, Tayo Mark Glats foreman was kind enough to show me her conformation the other day and ED by Elusive Quality is poetry in motion to look at.

ED conformation is faultless and when her racing days are over I hope she becomes a blue hen.

ED 3rd dam produced Vigors a great turf SW, and also a favorite of mine.

SA management is not responding to my many ideas of how to improve their attendance.

I always submit my ideas in their suggestion box, but so far I am 0-8. LOL

hi louis finochio

If 'Elusive Diva' runs huge at the Oak Tree meet and is THE standout...or at the very least is one of the honest-to-goodness standouts...

...maybe you could recommend that next year her likeness could be on the 2006 Oak Tree Mug.

About 20 years ago I wrote a letter that was forwarded to Joe Harper at DM.

I had a Idea about OTB. I told Joe Harper that I lived 12 miles from SA and I had to drive 200 miles round trip to DM to place my bets.

I asked Joe if it would be possible for me to place my bets at SA and save time and gas by doing so.

Mr. Harper wrote me and said that DM was considering the same and It would be called ITW.

ITW became a reality 1 year later and every fan saved time and gas by placing their bets at SA or HP.

hi louis finochio

You might agree...sometimes it can be difficult dealing with and/or overcoming obstacles...

...it sounds like you're not easily discouraged.

It seems clear that you have a LOVE for the horses and the whole thoroughbred game.

Keep the ideas flowing...and the passion burning.

Best to you.

hi louis finochio

You wrote "I made a suggestion to management to give away a 8X10 color photo of Elusive Diva to the fans instead of the mug..." "Elusive Diva will run on opening day 6 and one half fur. on the grass, in the stake race for fillies and mares."

You also wrote "...(Elusive Diva) by Elusive Quality is poetry in motion to look at."

Louis...you certainly recognized a good one in Elusive Diva.

Not only did she win the G3-Senator Ken Maddy Handicap by 3 lengths...but the time for the 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf was 1:11 2/5...WOW.

Great call Louis...congrats.

Elusive Diva was the favorite!

I was disappointed with the performance of Bella Banissa, a half-sister to Sidewalk Talk, a mare I owned for the past 3 years, and while I had to sell her, I will keep track of her and her family and offspring. I still have her nice yearling colt to sell. Bella Banissa has speed, but she doesn't know how to rate. She was pretty outmatched in this one.

Has anybody ever seen Bella Banissa in the flesh? I sure would like some ideas as to her size and conformation. Her dam has a yearling and a weanling by Freud [Lakland owns the dam and the stallions] and is back in foal to Good And Tough.

To Gordo: Who is the trainer of Bella Bannisa? As I can check out her conformation for you.

That would be great. Thanks.
