Makybe Diva
This is a truly great mare of world standard. 3 Melbourne Cups a Cox Plate an Australian Cup and a Sydney Cup in one lifetime - just amazing.
She is the best horse Australia has produced since Phar Lap. The owner is a Tuna Fisherman - yeah and he is worth about $150 million +++. They catch a lot of fish off South Australia.
Anyone who can get a copy of her recent Cox Plate win (2,040m) and this year's Melbourne Cup (3,200m) will no doubt marvel at an amaging horse. The trainer Lee Freedman is something to also consider having won the VRC Derby and Oaks as well this season.
It was a pity that Starcraft didn't produ8ce on the dirt. It would have been good for OZ racing. Anyway, his efforts in Eurpoe showed that he is up to the best.
To put things into perspective though, Makybe Diva would be at least 5 lengths better than Startcraft at a distance above a mile.

MD is the catch of the season and may those fisherman have many days of classic fishing.
I love pedigrees with many crosses of foundation mares as they are the mother of the breed.
