Actually, it was +6C today in S. Ont. We have started the mud season early. On a more sombre note, someone at Ralph Biamonte's farm was hurt in a fall from the hay mow (paralyzed from waist down) , and the Pub Night may be changed to Thursday 19th and become a benefit instead. Check the website for updates.
Hi Maureen,
Thanks for the invite.
I don't get up to The Fort as much as I had (used to be 6-8 times a year at least) but I'll keep you in mind.
Regards,
Pete

Actually as a year long member and erstwhile contributor to this great board I would humbly request all members to log into this fledgling forum if only to register support and acknowledgement. That being said I feel strongly that all of you should be made aware of the fact that in the early 60s Fort Erie Racetrack became the stomping ground of possibly the most influential racehorse/sire of recent history in the form of the mighty Northern Dancer who won his maiden race there. Subsequently this wonderful little warrior would win the Kentucky Derby in the fastest time ever until a monster named Secretariat appeared . His record as a sire needs absolutely no embellishment on my part and has influenced the sport of kings in every land that hosts racing. I still cannot believe that it all began on a July day years ago at Fort Erie. Respectfully Wilf.
