Ooh we got us some buzz for a Tiznow 3yo colt
http://news.bloodhorse.com//viewstory.asp?id=31795
He was sent to England due to some 'minor physical issues' which I'd love to know about but I got the impression he's still owned by WinStar. Did I understand this right? Well anyway he's in Dubai at the moment but they wanna put him on the TC trail so maybe we'll get a Dubai trained horse that comes to America like they wanted and wins the Derby, just not owned by the Dubai guys for millions of dollars. I still like that he's a son of Tiznow but get this, he's run 1 1/4 (I presume on turf but I dunno) as a 2yo in Nov. so he can get the distance. Of course other horses have run that far before but not quite gotten to the Derby and run well in it so this might be nothing but it's interesting. Can a Tiznow out of a Notebook mare do the job? Thoughts?
The name rocks which's totally irrelevent but it's fun that it's not a goofy one. Not so crazy about 9 starts, 2 wins, 1 show. I mean only 2 wins? Are we pulling a Wilko here with long on seasoning and a big race but several losses? How did he run when he was off the board?

I would say that a Well Armed can be a top horse at the classic distances. Notebook hasn't had much opportunity as a broodmare sire as of yet, but I don't see any reason to discount a horse because it is out of a Notebook mare.
Tiznow is a grandson of Relaunch, and Relaunch has crossed well with Notebook a few times. Achilles of Troy, the horse that won so impressively last weekend in New York is by Notebook out of a Relaunch mare. One of Notebook's more successful horses, named Effectiveness, was out of a Relaunch mare, and she was a pure distance horse, so Notebook has had some success at longer distances.
