Thoughts Discreet Cat/UAE Derby?

Apparently he won a $30,000 conditions race at 1 mile. What on earth does that mean though? I assume that was an allowance. The time 1:35.91 without facing serious competition I'm guessing.

Do we figure he'll do well in the UAE Derby? Who else is going there? Will Henny Hughes even make the race? Seems like Henny wouldn't need any more graded earnings but Discreet Cat's trying for his only graded race pre-Derby and he still hasn't faced even stakes competition. That'd be at most 3 races lifetime if he makes the KY Derby field. Are they nuts? I've heard of fresh horses but geez.
