Dubai World Cup card

Postby Ill-bred » Wed Mar 22, 2006 1:55 pm

Any opinions out there?

I love Brass Hat in the $6-million World Cup, although Kane Hekili scares me a bit.

The field for the 1 1/8-mile Dubai Duty Free is incredible. By far the day's best!

The 1 1/2-mile Sheema Classic looks a little light. Normally don't like U.S. based horses at this distance vs. world competition, but perhaps Relaxed Gesture can do it....

Anyone know if TVG or HRTV will have this card on and when?

Its going to be on ABC (at least the Dubai World Cup and the UAE Derby are), but I would have to imagine TVG will carry the undercard as they have before.

The Godolphin entry Elocounist drew PP 1, and their connections were very unhappy, as E will get sand in his face.

Why dont they move the starting gate off the rail and the PP 1 will have more of a chance off the rail?

According to today's DRF, there were two posts left when Saeed bin Suroor made his selection for Electrocutionist -- the 1 and 4. He took the 1, and then they spout all this "The rail is impossible" talk.

Why didn't he take No. 4?!

A long shot that I really like is Chiquitin, trained by Ian Jory and ridden by Mick Kinane. He has yet to win a G1, but has won a G2 and comes off a very good G2 in his last race that he finished 2nd in.

This lightly raced 5 year old looks like he could be sitting on a big one.

We will see.
