Kentucky Derby Contenders?

How many will start? I figure 14 will contend for the roses? Anybody else got any ideas? :wink:

jagger: I've reconsidered. I think the gates will be full. I was kind of hoping some owners and trainers would honestly appraise their horses and save them for a better day when the potential for winning is in their favor. Sorry Wilf, I've got to tell you Flashy Bull is a nice horse but not for the Derby. I'll gladly eat my words though.

Guess I'm going to have to admit I was wrong, too. I was really hoping/thinking a few owners would wise up and pull their horses out. I STLL don't think Showing Up is going to run ... but I was really hoping to have heard him, Private Vow and Bluegrass Cat weren't going by now. Can't figure out why Seaside Retreat or Storm Treasure are going either. Was really thinking those first three would pull out and only Sacred Light and Sunriver were going to take their spots.

May I never be so delusional about any horse I'm connected with's chances.
