Sunday Holiday Tries Again

Postby madelyn » Fri Aug 31, 2007 4:47 pm

Sun, Sept 2, at Saratoga in a $62K MSW. This daughter of Militant Maid, who is in my broodmare band, surprised me last out by leading and holding on for second in her very first start. I got the mare quite a bit after this filly was bred, but I'm cheering her on nonetheless.

Good luck. It is always nice to have their page improved.

This is the one that came second in a race with a very attractive purse? Good luck, hope that catalog page for your mare gets a boost.

This filly has already done quite well for a, “… poorly bred, bad horse out of a crappy mare…”. Obviously, she has done well considering her breeder is a moron, after all he was once told, “…you think you know way more about the industry than you really do…”.

Actually, I somewhat would expect this filly to be scratched. She had a big work earlier this week (which could mean she is sitting on a big effort), but it seems a little early to wheel her back after such a work. Add in that she is on the extreme outside and that Mott has another Zayat horse in, (with Kent D. listed on both), and the probability of a scratch increases dramatically.

If anyone is going to be in Lexington for the Sept. sale, you might wish to check out this filly’s ½ by El Corredor. She has every reason to be behind her “class”, (a little immature and small), however with solid care and perhaps a little time, she should prove to be a useful racehorse

As suspected... she is listed as a scratch. Looking forward to her next race, hope she finds a good spot within a week or so, believe she will be ready.

Yep... real easy. Actually easier than I suspected. Could have easily won by more... possibly could have come back and run in the next race.

Still not sure how 1/5 was justified, she had never run distance and was running for only the second time... in a new environment. Oh well, it worked.

She looked good, looked like the distance wasn't a problem, but glad the competition was weak. She was green in the stretch, again. In her next trip she probably won't be able to get by with that.

She looks like she could be a good one... and... to make Rok happy... Mott is doing a very nice job with her.

She looked DAMN good! Congrats Kal and Madelyn. Nothing like an improvement on a page and for Kal, nothing like looking like a genius even if it is after the fact! :D

Hey Madelyn, the catalog improves. Congrats also KAL. She may be green but patience will win out and she could be a good one.

Truth be told, I liked this one from the beginning. I was looking for a versatile, 1 mile type with the breeding. Guess we got it.

It will be interesting to see what Mott does with her next.

Madelyn, are you looking forward to that Rocking Trick yet.
