Victoria s again.

Postby BenB » Mon Apr 26, 2010 11:48 am

Next start will be at dusseldorf the day from the german 1000 quiness.
7 furlongs the track will be good or better. this track is much sharper than I like with sharper bends and a shorter last straight.

Her rider, which was the stable jock till last month took up an suspension, this forced us to take another route.

At least the rider which will take the ride E.Pedroza is having nice stats and we have to see it.

Thumbs up for vic

Actually Ben, it sounds like you are not too hopeful then , with all these negatives about the race.

I have some serious doubts, indeed.

I might not even even go.

But maybe I go as Parlo wrote to me he will visit the track.

It even has become worse, she does not get the outside startinggate, as there seems to be another one with gateproblems, and the outside box is beeiing drawn ( just like a lottery)

We have had marvellous fine, warm weather over here during the forgone fortnight. Nevertheless there are heavy thunderstorms forecast over western Europe, so Guineas-Meeting at Newmarket and the meeting at Dusseldorf on Saturday could be rather wet with soft going.

Dusseldorf has a tricky triangular track - from the 7f-start to the first sharp bend is a rather short way and the Dusseldorf-track prefers front-runners. In spite of that Ronja, a favourite for next Saturday's Guineas, showed a nice run from behind in her Guineas-trial-win 3 weeks ago.

So Victoria S is no forlorn hope in her race (- which is not the German 1,000 Guineas!).

A race to forget real soon.

She was on the inside at the back of the field started fighting settling late and the race was over.

I must admit, Victoria's race was the only one on Saturday I watched from the stand (without binocular) and not before a tv-set on the track. So I saw Victoria just on her last 200 y of the race. She trailed in last but was only 4 lengths behind the 3rd-placed horse.

There was no rain as announced before, this came the following day. In the German Guineas there were several horses with good finishing speed but they all couldn't catch the winner in a narrow race, too.

Due to the economic downturn, I gave my half share back to the owner, breeder who has the other half in Victoria S.

Later in the year(fall) Iam surely regretting this, but at this stage there is no other option.

Sorry to hear about that Ben, just take time to get things in order and have another go . It's only a matter of time before your luck will change.
