Remote Control runs tonight

Postby henthorn » Tue Oct 25, 2005 1:50 pm

Sorry for the late notice. Remote is racing tonight at Remington Park at 7:24pm CDT, race 3, PP #12, $10K claiming at 1 1/16 mile on the turf. It's mostly the same horses he raced last time, including the two who beat him. Poor guy gets no breaks. Last time he drew the outside post (#10 hole) and this time he drew the outside post (#12). "ouch!"

We'd like to see him get into the fray early, to avoid getting hung wide on the early first turn. Then maybe he can settle. There are lots of closers in the race, but not much pace, so it's possible he could get loose and win. Wish us well. He's 15:1 on the morning line.

He got an easy position in second, two lengths behind the pacesetter, who went wire-to-wire to win it. The closing runner that had beaten both of them last out came running at the end to pass Remote Control to steal the second spot by a neck. Nice race, and we probably won't see the winner next time in this company, since he won so easily at $10K. I'm sure his connections will place him into higher-price company, since he's only four, and improving.
