Motion Approved in stakes tonight

Postby henthorn » Sat Aug 19, 2006 10:29 am

Motion Approved is the 5yo With Approval gelding born of my mare Shake on It; he's my very first home-bred. I still own his dam, who's currently carrying a Vicar foal.

He is entered into the 6.5f Silver Goblin Stakes tonight for OK-breds, race #8 at Remington Park, scheduled at 9:39 pm CST.

He earned his way thru a second place finish in an open $100K stake in Nebraska this May, and through his consistent performance the past year.

His competition includes all the old toughies in the state, such as Zee Oh Six, George Taylor, and Outlaw Cowboy, all major stakes winners in years past. His trainer called me this morning to let me know he's running, and asked if I have any others I can send him to train :o . Maybe I can trade some of my hayburners for spending money after all. :P (Three of them are Motion's little sisters.)

This picture is the only one I have of him as an adult, from two years ago. I'll be sure to get a better picture tonight. Wish us luck.

A confirmed sprinter that had won this race before won it again--Lumbre. The miler/stayers in the field used it as a prep for the September Oklahoma Classics Day Classics race at 9f.

Motion Approved closed like a freight train to gain fourth place--he's a stalker-closer. The past three years' previous Classic winners came in behind him--George Taylor ('04-closer) and Zee Oh Six ('03,'05-pacesetter). Good job, Boy! He's turned into a rangy big grey gelding. I'll upload a new picture this week.

I finally got the photo uploaded into the computer from the race night. Sorry, no Winner's Circle photo. :P Motion Approved has become a beautiful dappled gray gelding, long and lean, but with a wide chest.
