I know he's bred for the turf, and has only had one start on it when he was still trying to figure out his job. I'm hoping he will race to his breeding and find his niche.

Well, Motion was overmatched at 43:1 odds. The purse of $100,000 pulled in some big name horses and trainers. Many of the ten runners had earned over $200-700K, and were turf specialists. Motion ran well in sixth for the first mile, then got discouraged and tired to seventh. But the favorites didn't take it all; and Notable Okie, an OK-bred owned by my friends the Richters, came in second at 17:1. The three favorites got first, third, and fourth. It was a great night of racing, with six stakes on the card ranging from $50K to $250K in purses.

Since I no longer own him, I didn't follow up on his response to the race. But he should do fine in allowance company on the grass next out. His trainer says he loved to run on the grass in his workout. He only lost by 5+ lengths as the second longest shot on the board. Good experience for him. He's a stalker by nature, just a tough bunch to run against.
He's the gray in the avatar.
