Wow what a race. It was her very first start and she got stuck in traffic, went out wide, got the lead and held on till the very end. Got a VERY game 2nd. According to her breeder (from whom I got Militant Maid), this filly was not nearly as nice as MM's Sunday Break who is now a 2 year old.

Well it seem's like she's nice enough just the same with such an excellent performance first time out. Do you still own the mare? It looks like Name Your Prize is set to improve the mare's page if she can stay healthy. Congratulations!

I do have Militant Maid. She will be bred to Rocking Trick in the next week or so. Her El Corredor filly is in my barn (the Immaculate Conception) and is really gorgeous. The filly was born May 25th so I skipped the foal heat and held the mare for a March cover this year.

Oh very good. Isn't it lovely when things fall into place with the progeny of your mares.

Well she was a disappointing 5th, but just about every other horse in the field was older! Her last out was 3yos, this was 3 and up and mostly they were 4.

In this part of the year most 3 yr old,s are not competive against four year and up un less the weight advantage in our country some 12 pds.
The older ones are hardened much more in their body and mind.
Better luck next time, and I hope the trainer will go back to racing for 3yr olds only
