Oriental Rose claimed

Oriental Rose has run a couple of times since I last posted on her. While she trains brilliantly, she has not shown anything in her races since breaking her maiden last September, usually dropping back and failing to change leads. She was switched to another trainer, blinkers were added and she was dropped in class. Today she ran in a 30k claimer at Churchill Downs and dead heated for 5th. She was claimed.

I guess it's a good thing since she was about to start bleeding money, but she was one of my first horses and she is beautiful so I feel sad.

You'll feel a lot less sad when that check arrives from the horsemen's bookkeeper! Believe me!

It's unfortunately part of the game... this is the time of year that trainers claim. They are filling back up after trimming down their winter stock.

It happens sometimes and is part of the deal.
