Bros hoss American Mud is in the 1st at Canterbuy. Mile & 70yards. 7.5k Claimer, NW2L. He is coming off his maiden win. Drew the outside in a short, and soft looking field. There is a couple of early pace setters in the field for him to run at. Old Mud is a sound hoss despite having two crosses to Turn-To
My boy Tough to Handle is in the 6th at Emerald. Dropping him to the bottom in a 5k maiden claimer. Raced him four times as a 2yo. He showed a few flashes of early speed, but never came close to closing the deal.
Toughie came up a little sore, (stifles and a sore ankle) so I pulled him off the track and turned him out for the rest of the year. In retrospect, think Toughie may not have been quite mature enough to run as a two year old. He sure has filled out and matured. Frankly, If he can just finish in the top half in the 12 horse field, I will be quite happy.
My avatar is a picture of Toughie when he was just a yearling. Very good gelding. Must get his temperment from his grandsire Shergar.
Regards, Shergar (the human one!)
