Our nice older mare, Outdone, in a 3-other than turf sprint.
Hoping for a good showing as a tightener for a stakes at the Meadowlands on the 29th.

Denise what do you mean with a 3 other than?
Good luck anyway in her next coming, as I understands you need this one for a prep and than the big one at the 29st.

A "three other than" condition means for those horses that are non-winners of three races OTHER than maiden, claiming, starter or hunt meet.
Meaning she's won her first two allowance conditions already.

Basically its a race for horses that have never won 3 "Allowance races".

You could of won 10 races as long as you hadnt won 3 allowance races

Whoa, I just looked at the chart. 56.19 for 5 furlongs should work as a tightener. Even if she was 4 or 5 lengths back, that was a serious pace.

Hope she came out okay.

Cooled out fast. She only lost by about 6 lengths, so only :01. She's been clipping off 5f at :57 very steadily. The going allowed the front speed to hold up, and since she's really a miler, the closers couldn't close.
She got blocked a bit in the stretch, but there was no catching the leader.
Good freshener after a month off. She's got such heart and doesn't quit, even when she's beaten.
Wendy still wants to try her at the Meadowlands next week. Outie loves the BigM, and night racing under those lights. So it looks like we'll be in at Belmont Friday and the BigM Saturday. Hmmm...can't decide about the BC in between.
