Newbie wins

Postby BenB » Sun Oct 30, 2005 10:58 am

Mellanie Surprise our newbie did win today, she was eager in the early
stages after settling down, and tucked in. her head went down for cruising.
In the closing stages she was hanging a little bit, but took it by a lenght, ridden only hands. cotes 1.70:1 place 1.20 : 1 so a hot favourite.
last friday all of us went to see her and the kids and wife have been petting her, she the horse was enjoying it. I love to see the bright eyes from the kids while grooming her.
Now she gets a long R and R. Up to now 3 out of 4 starts.
And two year old of the year 2005.
Next year the guiness are supposed to be her highlight from the year,
and our ultimate goal.

It,s great to have a horse that is flawless, kind to human beiings, and is able to run fast enough for winning in her own right

For anyone, who is really bored, pics on wwww.nakoersen.nl on the left side a scroll menu ''Rensport binnenland'' scroll down till the story starts with 'Mellanie Surprise no surprise' etc beyond the first set of pics including a couple in the winners enclosure with sponsors me and my daughter Megan holding a box of wine, and some arts articles. I am the one who is strangly smiling for the thing that she managed after all. The litlle man in royal blue is Englishman Terry Cain, who is riding in the best form of his life at the moment.
Mellanie Surprise will be on the cover of our weekly magazine, I am so proud of her, and of her passed away last owner, who bred her, and of my trainer who was giving me advice in buying her.

have been meaning to give you congratulations for over 2 weeks now! I tried to find your picture on that website, but with my slooooowwwwww dial-up, I finally gave up. Anyway, hope she's still happy and training well :D

What a NICE DAY

I am very happy to have seen the pictures! It clarified something in your description for me... Ben you will probably find this quite funny and just another example of how we can all be from "one herd" but our cultures can be so different. You mentioned that you were in the photo "holding a box of wine". Here in the United States, some of the lesser varieties of wine, in larger quantities, are sold in a cardboard box container, lined with plastic, with a little tap for serving the wine.. and I hate to say that is the image that popped into my head. It is some time since I have seen the finer varieties, nicely bottled, and presented in a wooden gift box.

At christmas time there are the elections for HOY 2005. She will be either 1st or 2nd.
Depends on the votes from the readers of our national (the only
one) magazine.
